The making of a world-class Performance Coach

    Performance Coach Certification

A new approach to coach certification

    – 3 mins read –

‘When we introduced coaching into business four decades ago, the word was new in that context, and did not bring with it the baggage of a long history of past practice’. So reflected our founder Sir John Whitmore in the most recent edition of the classic Coaching for Performance.

Over forty years ago John Whitmore pioneered a new approach in business which he called “performance coaching”, which has become more and more important in organizations today. There has never been a greater need for organizations, leaders and their people to constantly improve performance, in order to keep up with the demands of the modern working landscape.

Since the phrase was coined, the word coaching has become used extensively, with over 2 billion search results appearing on Google. And with so many options available to people wishing to begin their coaching journey, Performance Consultants’ gold-standard training stands out as a beacon within the coaching profession for both best practice and excellence.

“It is not about the piece of paper, but the rigor of the process and the learning achieved has been invaluable.”

John Collingwood, Senior Director, Global Talent Identification & Development, Tupperware Brands Corporation (Certified Coach through Performance Consultants)

The outset of this journey can raise a myriad of questions in people’s minds:

    1. How long will it take to become competent?
    2. Do I need to gain certification?
    3. How will I have confidence in the provider I choose? Will the accreditation be recognised globally?

At Performance Consultants we have always made it our intention to lead the market in coaching certification, enabling learners to work towards a well-defined outcome, gaining skills and competence on the journey. We are excited therefore to announce the relaunch of our coach certification pathway with a new name Performance Coach Certification featuring a new Performance Coach Toolkit.

Our aim has been to mould an inspiring pathway which is easy to understand, highly-motivating and deeply rigorous. This “Double Crown” Performance Coach certification pathway sets participants up to be world-class executive coaches. One of these ‘crowns’ will be bestowed by a leading certification body (it is recognised by the ICF, the AC and the EMCC), the other will be a unique accreditation by us – Bronze, Silver and Gold levels – to signify first-class Performance Coaches who are specifically trained in creating high-performance in organizations. Our virtual training programme is available worldwide in two different formats (intensive or phased), and enables coaches to gain accreditation which has truly global recognition.

The certification pathway sets participants up to be world-class executive coaches and includes all that is needed to coach inside organizations with the unique Performance Coach Toolkit, with specific training in 360 Assessments, Tripartite Sessions and how to estimate a return on investment with our unique Coaching for Performance ROI.

The Performance Coach Certification provides an opportunity to learn with the pioneers of coaching – a journey that began for Sir John Whitmore over 40 years ago, when he introduced coaching into business.

We strongly believe that this is the pathway for aspiring coaches who want to make a difference in 21st century organisations. And it all begins with taking the first step.
