Team coaching is similar to the way in which an executive coach works with an individual client in one-to-one coaching but focuses on group development rather than individual development.

How does team coaching work?

Each team coaching journey is tailored to fit the specific needs of a team and the outcomes they wish to achieve. Our expert team coaches work with your team to understand their needs and objectives and their current reality. They then design and deliver a series of bespoke workshop interventions. These focus on the team as a system rather than a collection of individuals and are flexible enough to work with whatever comes up for the team in the space. Team coaching workshops last 1–2 days and a team coaching journey may take place over a period of 6–9 months or more, with short virtual check-ins in between.

Group coaching

Group coaching is a learning and development process for managers who share the same type of challenges and who want to develop their leadership identity and effectiveness.

Group coaching can be used to strengthen the capacity of leaders to:

  • address similar challenges in their professional development
  • manage and deliver collective performance
  • lead groups towards improved thinking and decision-making – also known as tapping into the collective intelligence

Group coaching offers the advantage of being a more cost-effective way than one-to-one coaching to enhance learning success. What is the structure of team coaching?

The structure of team coaching depends on the needs and objectives of each team. As with executive coaching, teams should expect to go on a journey with their team coach over a period of 6–12 months. We recommend a minimum of 2 bespoke team workshops with shorter check-ins between, all designed and facilitated by our expert team coaches.

What is the difference between team coaching and group coaching?

Team coaching is for intact and operating leadership teams to help them improve their performance as a system. Group coaching is for groups of people facing a similar challenge or issue but who do not necessarily operate as a team. The focus of group coaching is on helping multiple individuals improve their performance.

Can team coaching be provided in different languages?

How do you select your performance coaches?

We have a rigorous process to select and onboard our global network of hand-picked, world-class coaches. All our coaches have a robust business grounding through holding senior corporate positions and/or having coached at senior levels for a number of years. The majority of our coaches are accredited to the level of Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) or the equivalent from other coaching bodies. And our team coaches hold accreditations in team and systems coaching. We also check they are aligned with our transformational coaching approach and philosophy.

Is team coaching confidential?

Yes, confidentiality is one of the key foundations of coaching. Both we and our coaches work according to the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Core Competencies model which places paramount emphasis on ethical behavior and confidentiality.
