Leadership Coach Training

Overview

Leaders are facing many challenges now as our world is changing fast. Globalisation, instant communication, Climate Change, and rising staff expectations are just a few new issues that demand a different style of leadership with new skills, attitudes and behaviours.

This course examines systematically the challenges and the skills required. Throughout the course there are participative exercises in small groups and pairs designed to develop leadership capability and to illustrate the methodology for furthering the learning thereafter.

Please note that this is a generic outline, all our training is tailored to specific needs once client needs are assessed.

Sir John Whitmore (seated) with course participants at a coach training course in London.

Day One

Exploration of the causes of the new circumstances for leaders and how they manifest in your organisation and culture. Throughout the day we will concentrate on the development of Emotional Intelligence, Communication and Coaching Skills. Participants will practice coaching with a partner on a subject relevant to their present work. Towards the end of the day we will reveal some of the more advanced coaching techniques.

Day Two

We will identify four particular qualities essential for new leaders, Vision, Values, Agility, Authenticity, and use exercises to develop each of them. Finding enthusiasm and a sense of meaning and purpose at work will also be fully covered. We will briefly cover team development and managing teams. We will then look at on-going evolutionary personal development that all leaders will need to embark upon. The last part of this day will be spent on action planning relative to the participantŐs business needs and their personal development.
