Coaching for Performance Excellence

Overview

The Coaching for Performance Excellence training programs are based on the number one coaching book written by our Executive Chairman, Sir John Whitmore. Entitled Coaching for Performance, the book forms the foundation for this is cutting-edge training. Training modules are comprised of a 2-day training followed approximately 6 weeks later by a further 2-days. Between the two interventions, participants will have the opportunity to practice their coaching skills so that they can bring real case studies to the second training and embed skills.

Coaching for Performance Excellence Training

About the Training

Our facilitators are trained to find the natural pace for your group, the amount covered varies from group to group depending on their experience and requirements. From our experience of working with groups, by the end of this module, participants will have explored and have an understanding of:

  • the principles of Awareness, Responsibility & Self-Belief that underpin coaching
  • the use of these principles and skills to promote performance and generate feedback
  • the core coaching skills of effective questioning and listening empathically
  • practical coaching on real issues they currently face within the business
  • the behavioral changes required central to their personal development as coaches
  • an introduction to emotional intelligence in the coaching relationship
  • how and where coaching, managing and leadership fit within their work responsibilities
  • their part (individually and within the company) in helping move the world in a sustainable direction

Throughout the training, participants will have the opportunity to practice their coaching skills in pairs, trios and as a group.

Embedding the Learning

Coaching is learnt through practical application so that between modules participants are encouraged to practice. In this way, participants can bring their coaching experiences to the training room so that any problems or queries that might have arisen can be addressed.

Sustaining Behaviours

We find that companies often like to offer support to participants to help them to further, sustain and embed behaviours beyond the program. One way of doing this is to offer one-to-one telephone coaching, thereby allowing participants to work with a coach on their longer term goals and help them bed down all that they learned and increase performance into the future.

Monitoring & Evaluation

We are committed to ensuring that the impact of our interventions with your organisation is captured in a way that is meaningful to your business. We will work with you to develop a method that meets your specific requirements and gives you the information that you need throughout the programme. We develop with you Performance Plan. We have a number of different Monitoring & Evaluation methods that we use to do this and, where possible, we work to achieve an estimated ROI on a project.

Element for Measuring Current Culture Values

Our research shows that the most successful, high performance organisations show a strong alignment between personal and current culture values, and current culture and desired culture values.

We use this assessment of Current Culture Values (CCV) in order to enable you to see:

1) What the current culture of the group is so that you can track transformation

2) How and what behavior change drives your results, leading to you being able to proactively manage your culture

3) What impact your investment in coaching and any other interventions has on the bottom line by looking at the changes in your metrics and estimating an ROI for your investment

Information for the CCV is gathered by participants completing an online questionnaire. In it participants are asked to choose 10 behaviors and values from a list that has been customized for your organisation that best describe the current culture of the group. The top 10 of these values are then plotted onto this model.
