| Performance Leadership
Rob was a lead player in the research initiative within McKinsey and clients into understanding the drivers of human performance and organizational culture, particularly focusing on how individual and group behaviour and their underlying mindsets can be transformed. This work has brought together the latest thinking globally from transformational and behavioural psychology, physiology, brain research and physics. When tied together with best organizational performance management practices, this has created path-breaking approaches to culture change.
He witnessed the 1990s' "slash and burn" approach to costs and jobs which convinced him that getting companies' performance culture right will be the key to their competitive advantage. This is particularly so in sectors where most of the big strategic moves have already happened, the market has consolidated, and the only thing that is going to differentiate the big players is the quality and motivation of their people.
