Robert Paterson

Overview

Robert Paterson is Chairman of the Emerging Markets Group and Chairman of Performance Consultants Brasil.

He has thirty years hands on experience in Structured Trade and Project finance and very highly regarded international investment banker between London, New York and Latin America

Latin American Finance Corporation International (LAFCO)

Robert Paterson is Managing Director of LAFCO, a structured trade finance and commodity business in Brazil. From there the companiy covers the whole of South America and feeds business into the capital markets of London and New York.

The company specializes in Structured Trade and Project finance focusing mainly on Brazilian agriculture.


Global Financial Experience and Background

1997-1999 Daniel Stewart and Co., Investment Bankers, London. Financial Adviser working both with the Cuban and Czech operations of the firm. Undertook an assignment under the EBAS programme, in Moscow, involving advice on trade finance for Russian Banks. Based in Havana, Cuba, advising City based institutions on the establishment of an emerging market fund for that country.

1995- 1997 Paterson Enterprises. Providing trade finance services and promoting trade finance with Latin America. Managing Director of Interbanka, based in Prague, Czech Republic. Mandate Ð to restructure the bank and develop trade finance and domestic private banking in preparation for a take-over. Also to organise and negotiate the take-over of the bank. The take-over was successfully completed with Bayerische Landesbank, Germany in 1997.

1989-1994 Lloyds Bank Plc. London, U.K. Head of International Private Banking Ð responsible for the wealthiest and most important private clients of Lloyds Bank, in Britain.

1987-1989 Lloyds Bank Plc. Sao Paulo, Brazil. Director of Trade Finance operations with responsibility for a portfolio of US$650 million.

1986-1987 Lloyds Bank Plc. London, U.K. Senior Manager responsible for Lloyds Bank's Barter and Countertrade Division in the Far East.

1985-1986 Lloyds Bank Plc. Dubai, U.A.E. Country Manager responsible for Oman and Iran.

1972-1985 Bank of London and South America, Brazil. Head Office Trainee through to Senior Branch Manager specialising in Trade and Project Finance and Foreign Exchange.
