Overview

Oliver Dudok van Heel's particular focus is on working with senior executives in integrating sustainable development within large organisations.

He has worked within the public and private sectors to integrate sustainable development within organisational strategy in his various senior roles. He is currently a tutor at the University of Cambridge’s Post-Graduate Certificate on Sustainable Business.

Professional Background & Experience

Oliver holds a Masters of Law and an Insead MBA, and lectured on sustainable development at Insead, IMD, London Business School, College of Europe, and London School of Economics.
 
Oliver’s has led senior management roles as COO of Greenvoice.com, an online business targeted at the growing environmental consumer niche, and an Associate Director at SustainAbility, the leading sustainable development consultancy and think-tank. Previously to that he was the Commercial Director at Enviros Consulting, the leading consultancy and software business which helps organisations in the public and private sector identify and grasp economic, environmental and social opportunities and The Monitor Company, London, focused on strategy development and organisational change for multinational clients. Earlier to these roles he was a Business Analyst with Arthur D. Little, Rotterdam and Buenos Aires, working in the areas of strategy, organisational culture and change management.
 
His clients included multinationals from all sectors as ABN Amro, RWE, BT, Galp Energia, ICI, Powergen, Prudential, Shell, Statoil and international corporate associations such as the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

Specialist area - corporate sustainability and responsibility

His specialist area encompasses:

  • Corporate Sustainability Strategy: Helping companies understand their key corporate responsibility (CR) issues (environmental, social and economic), assessing how they are performing on these key issues, setting targets and roadmaps for achieving these targets.
  • The Business Case: Assessing the qualitative and quantitative value of CR to companies, both from the perspective of potential risks to be managed and opportunities to be captured.
  • Corporate Sustainability Implementation: Helping companies implement their corporate responsibility strategies by ensuring that CR is embraced at the operational and middle management levels, both through the development of targeted management systems and through the alignment of corporate and employee values.
  • Facilitation: Facilitating stakeholder engagement sessions, public speaking and leading and moderating workshops on CR topics.
  • Sustainability Management: Managing large multi-disciplinary teams to take innovative projects to a successful completion.
