Professional Background
Niran started her career as an assistant professor of the International Finance
and Trade Department at ShenZhen University. She was a director at the International
Business Center in China's first special economic zone. She emigrated to the United
States, acquired an MBA at UCLA before working first for S.C. Johnson and then
Coca Cola. She developed business models and delivered organisation innovation
for high profile brands, including Raid, Shout, Windex, Ziploc, Coca-Cola Classic,
diet Coke, Sprite, PowerAde, Mars and Uncle Ben's. She coached top retail, food
and entertainment businesses, such as A&P, Kroger, Domino's Pizza, Sonic, Applebee's,
Burger King and Warner Brothers. She worked closely with the top management teams
at Masterfoods to generate global growth in snackfood and petcare. Specialization
She moved to Australia after 9/11 as an independent coach and innovation
consultant. In 2004 she co-founded with John Whitmore the Institute of Human Excellence
to deliver coaching, leadership and innovation in the Asian Pacific countries.
She is one of a small group of trainers worldwide for CTT
(Corporate Transformation Tools), a values assessment system devised by Richard
Barrett & Associates. CTT tools have been used by over 500 organisations in
27 countries since 1997. Niran's current clients include NIB, Datacom, Saville
Hotel Group, Social Venture Australia, and the premier business school in Australia,
AGSM.
Education
A native of
Inner Mongolia, Niran attended Nankai University at 15 years old where she was
awarded first a Bachelor of Science degree in Genetic Engineering, and then a
Master of Science degree in Organisation Management. Later Niran went to the United
States as an exchange scholar and research fellow on cultural anthropology at
University of Utah. Niran also holds a MBA degree in Marketing Strategy from the
University of California at Los Angeles. She is a master scuba diver. She currently
lives in Australia with her 10-year-old daughter Olina.
