- truly enjoy what they do; and
- become the creative cause of success
in the future.
Ecological
sustainability Performance Consultants International
works towards building a healthy environment as the foundation for: - the
well-being of individuals, societies and businesses; and
- a sustainable
economic system and wealth generation.
We encourage individuals,
leaders and businesses to take note of the findings of the UN Millennium
Ecosystem Assessment (MA) which assessed two key issues related to healthy
ecosystems and human well-being: - the consequences of ecosystem
change for human well-being; and
- the scientific basis for action needed
to enhance the conservation and sustainable use of those systems and their contribution
to human well-being.
For the assessment, the MA synthesized information
from scientific literature and data and current knowledge held by the private
sector, practitioners, local communities and indigenous peoples. The MA
findings are the consensus view of the largest body of social and natural scientists
ever assembled to interpret and communicate knowledge in this area. They call
for whole system transformation in order to bring about ecological sustainability:
'Over
the past 50 years, humans have changed ecosystems more rapidly and extensively
than in any comparable period of time in human historyÉ The bottom line of the
MA findings is that human actions are depleting Earth's natural capital, putting
such strain on the environment that the ability of the planetŐs ecosystems to
sustain future generations can no longer be taken for granted. At the same time,
the assessment shows that with appropriate actions it is possible to reverse the
degradation of many ecosystem services over the next 50 years, but the changes
in policy and practice required are substantial and not currently underway.' (Excerpt
from the main findings
of the MA)

Performance Consultants International was created with a vision to respond
to systemic challenges. To meet the challenge for a healthy global environment,
we contribute through an integrated approach in all our areas of expertise and
collaboration across our advisory, coaching, leadership and investment services.
A new dimension in situational awareness Ultimately,
ecological sustainability requires a change in direction. A new attitude towards
nature, human solidarity and cooperation is needed to face the vital threats of
ecological degradation in a foreseeable world of nine billion people. To that
end, we are mindful of our clients' unique potential and treat you as a responsible
agent of change for the world we experience and the seed that we leave to future
generations. We are non-prescriptive the essence and part
of any truly transformational process in our work with clients and international
partners is the creation of awareness, responsibility, self-belief and leadership
within. This enables our clients to develop their true potential and manage demands
on land, soil and vegetation without undermining crucial ecosystem functions and,
in due course, set examples of human ambition, active participation and excellence.
Our perspective is holistic we work from the individual to
the systems level, and along and across our clients' value-chains and value-webs.
We help our clients to create themselves more sustainable business models, organizational
structures and cultures. As part of their journey, our partners and clients will
each raise their voice as individual and corporate citizen and advocate, and work
towards system-level changes. In cases where the transformation process
benefits from further insights, our advisory services provide senior management
expertise and mentoring, and both strategic and operational consulting. Our
commitment In helping our partners and clients to raise their environmental
performance, we aim to reflect our commitment to ecological sustainability and
will act in accordance with our values and beliefs. We recognize this to be a
continuous process of improvement rather than a steady-state and we seek to improve
our performance over time. Our impacts Our most significant adverse environmental
impacts are: * Consumption of natural resources in the development and delivery
of our services and in our general office operations. * Emissions to the atmosphere
from the use of carbon-based energy in the development and delivery of our services
and in our general office operations. * The environmental performance of our suppliers.
* Production of waste materials. Our most significant positive environmental impacts
are working to reduce our environmental footprint and that of our partners and
clients. With regard to our own operations, we will: - increase our
use of recycled and environmentally friendly products;
- reduce, and ultimately
eliminate, waste;
- increase the share of renewable energy and our energy
efficiency, becoming climate neutral over time;
- aim at sourcing locally;
- purchase more organic produce; and
- follow sound procurement practices
and give preference to sustainable suppliers.
Our
objectives To deliver our commitment to environmental performance, our
objectives are to: - oversee and regularly review all of our environmental
practices, conduct and operations, and set the future direction of our environmental
procedures and goals;
- set objectives, targets and programmes to improve
our environmental performance, including sustainable sourcing, carbon management,
waste minimization, pollution prevention and the use of ethical supply chains;
- comply with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements;
- provide
information and appropriate training for and seek feedback from all staff on our
environmental procedures and goals;
- use our resources to meet these commitments
in a manner that reinforces our activities;
- seek continuous improvement
in our environmental performance; and
- measure our progress in pursuing
these objectives.
Our statement on environmental performance is a
living document and will be reviewed and updated periodically and when appropriate.
